This is one of my favorite questions! I highly recommend planning your wedding with your mom - it’s a wonderful opportunity to create special memories together. However, it’s important to note that planning and coordinating a wedding are two distinct tasks. As your coordinator, I’ll take care of all the event-related details, allowing you and your mother to fully enjoy the moments you’ve been planning for the past year. I’ll serve as the point of contact for the DJ, caterer, photographer, videographer, bartenders, and venue manager. Imagine having all these people coming to you with questions on your big day - questions that could easily be handled by your coordinator. In my many years of coordinating weddings, I’ve seen that asking a family member or close friend to take on the role of coordinator often leads to hurt feelings and disappointment. Instead of enjoying your special day with you, they’ll be busy handling the details and dealing with any issues that arise. For example, Aunt Mary might miss the moment you put on your dress for the final time because she’s busy directing the DJ. Your Maid of Honor might miss a special toast with your mother and bridesmaids because she’s dealing with questions from the rental company. And your best friend might miss dinner and the toasts because they’re sorting out issues with the caterer. These situations can cause resentment, tears, and cast a shadow over the entire day. It’s always best to hire a professional third-party coordinator to handle the stress and logistics of your event, allowing your loved ones to fully enjoy the day with you.
Not at all! I offer three pricing options to accommodate a range of bridal budgets. My prices have remained unchanged for many years, as I believe in providing quality service at an affordable price. While I may not be the most expensive option in town, the value of my service is worth its weight in gold.
I work closely with each bride to create a personalized deposit and payment schedule. Typically, payments are split into three installments, depending on the date of the event. For events taking place within six months, the total amount is divided in half. In two instances, payment was made in full - but both of these weddings were only 14 and 10 days away, respectively. Yes, you read that right - I once coordinated a wedding with just 10 days’ notice, and it turned out beautifully!
I make it a priority to attend every event that I book. If I’m already booked for your date and an associate is available, we’ll discuss the arrangement to ensure that everyone is comfortable and informed. Even if I’m unable to attend your event in person, I’ll still be available in the month leading up to it to conduct your wrap-up meeting, design your timeline and floor plan, and provide the same high standard of care as if I were there with you.
Rest assured, when I meet with a client and learn that their ceremony will be held outdoors, I immediately begin formulating a contingency plan in case of rain. I never approach an event without careful planning and foresight. In the week leading up to the event, I closely monitor the weather forecast. If it looks like rain is likely, we’ll calmly discuss the situation, make any necessary decisions, and rest easy knowing that everything is under control (except for the weather, of course!). And remember, rain on your wedding day is traditionally considered good luck!
That’s a great question! In all my years of coordinating events, I’ve only had one event where a vendor failed to show up on the day of the event. I was able to find a replacement within two hours and the event was on schedule. I take great care to contact each vendor contracted for your wedding or event, confirming important details such as the event date, venue address, and client names. Vendors who need a copy of the timeline will receive one via email or on the day of the event. I double-check photographers’ contracted service times, verify caterers’ meal and service plans, and more. I do everything in my power to ensure that your day runs as smoothly as possible. A happy bride is a happy client!
Linen sizes are second nature to me! I have a thorough understanding of the table sizes offered by various venues, as well as the linens needed for each. This is just one of the many benefits of being an experienced vendor at several local venues.
Our Less Stress and Wonderful Wedding package provides you with vendor referrals for easy wedding planning. I only suggest vendors that have a proven track record and provide quality services to my clients. In addition, I do not receive compensation from referring one vendor over another. In fact, for each vendor category, I refer 3 vendors in each genre for you to choose from. If you don’t like any of those, I will send you 3 more! It is all about finding the companies that mesh well with you and your fiancé!
I’m happy to say that I’ve never had a major disaster at any of the events I’ve coordinated. Of course, as with any event, there may be minor glitches or unexpected situations that arise. However, my team and I are skilled at anticipating and planning for potential issues, and we’re always ready to handle any challenges that come our way. We’re creative problem-solvers and can quickly address any issues that arise, often without you even being aware of them. We’ll only bring situations to your attention if they require your immediate input. If you prefer not to be bothered with such details, we can designate a “go-to” person to handle any questions or concerns that may arise. During our wrap-up meeting, we’ll review the entire event from start to finish, ensuring that we have a solid game plan for the timeline and floor plan. By the end of the meeting, you’ll feel confident and relieved, knowing that everything is under control. Many of our brides (and their moms!) have told us how grateful they are for our services and how much easier we’ve made the planning process for them. It’s music to our ears!
The answer to this question is simple - I love a good celebration! There’s nothing quite like the joy of bringing people together for a special occasion and knowing that I played a big part in making it a success.
